Adele Walter, 21, is back with Moondance for her fifth overall summer and her second consecutive year as a leader. Adele is originally from Montgomery, Alabama but has lived for a considerable amount of time in Sun Valley, Idaho. On her trips as a student – Big Wild, Northern Lights, and Machu Picchu – Adele was struck by the beauty of the scenery and the confidence it inspired in her, and she wants to help pass along her experiences to a new batch of Moondancers. Adele was active in outdoor clubs in high school and has continued her involvement at the University of Alabama, where she is a rising senior. Adele returned to Moondance last summer where her group fed off her enthusiasm and her love for Moondance. We welcome Adele back for another summer and know that her group will love their California Discovery adventure and all the time they get to spend with Adele!
Forrest Revolinski, 24, is excited about leading his first ever adventure with Moondance this summer! Forrest was born in Louisville, Kentucky and lived there until his family moved to Merrit Island, Florida, a small island on Florida’s central Atlantic coast. Forrest is a leader who understands the value of serving others and that the best leaders often come from the back of a group. He has been on the executive board of Florida State’s Habitat for Humanity chapter for four years where he often worked with youth groups and school groups. Forrest, who just finished his degree at Florida State, has been working in the university’s recreation center where he taught physical fitness lessons as well as offering private instruction. When away from the gym and his studies, you can usually find Forrest doing anything active like hiking, playing ultimate Frisbee, bouldering, climbing, or cooling his heels by playing guitar or reading. As a leader of teenagers, Forrest truly grasps what a positive relationship can accomplish and he actively seeks out that opportunity to be a role model to all of his students. He is constantly striving to get the best out of everybody and will make an excellent addition to the Moondance family on the Colorado Trail!
Addie Navarro, 20, is a three time Moondance student eager to return to Moondance as her first summer as a leader. Addie was born in New York City, lived briefly in Vail, Colorado, but ultimately calls Charlotte, North Carolina her childhood home. As a high school student at the Asheville School in Asheville, North Carolina, Addie was fully introduced to the outdoors on her three Moondance adventures – Pacific Northwest, the Hawaiian Islands, and our Kilimanjaro climb. She knew from her very first trip in Washington that she wanted to return to Moondance to have the same positive impact on her students as her leaders had on her. Addie is now a rising junior at Duke University and is ready to take her love for Moondance and for working with teenagers to new the next level. After planning and executing a five week backpacking trip across New Zealand last summer, Addie is tremendously excited to have the opportunity to lead a new crop of Moondancers through the stunning California landscape, from the surf to the mountains, on this year’s California Discovery adventure!
