“My favorite moment on the course was when everyone became a family and didn’t worry about what they looked like or how they smelled! Every day is a different adventure that you can’t get anywhere else.”
-Justin Thomas, Highlands Ranch, CO

California’s impressive skyline of redwood trees, craggy peaks, and snow-capped mountains provide the perfect playground for the West Coast explorer. In the shadows of Mt. Shasta, immerse yourself in an adventure among old-growth forests, tidal pools, and wild beaches in an extraordinary setting where you spend evenings with the more famous stars of this California paradise.

Beach Backpack -- The Lost Coast

Learn the basics of wilderness travel with four days of coastal backpacking on the Lost Coast of Northern California. While hiking along the longest stretch of wild beach in California, explore tidal pools filled with sea stars and marvel at towering Redwoods on the cliffs above you. With the famed California sunset closing your day, you’ll be amazed at how quickly your group has bonded in the wild.

Whitewater Raft -- The Klamath River

Head inland to tackle the whitewater of the Klamath as you and your team run exciting Class III and IV rapids along this wild and scenic river. You’ll navigate along boulder-strewn embankments as you wind through Klamath National Forest and you’ll learn to prepare gourmet meals that only a rafting experience affords while camping on sandy beaches. Surrounding the river are the Trinity Alps beckoning to be explored.

Mountain Backpacking -- Trinity Alps

You’ve seen them from the banks of the Klamath and now it’s time to hike high above treeline for sweeping views of snow-capped mountains. You’ll hone the map reading skills you learned on the beach to find the perfect Alpine lake for a polar plunge, and you’ll borrow cooking tips you learned on the river for your meals in “the Alps.” After five days on this side of paradise, you may never want to leave.

Alpine Mountaineering and Summit Bid of Mt. Shasta

After gazing up at the towering snow-capped peak of Mt. Shasta for the majority of your trip, you will finally have the chance to conquer this legendary mountain! Learn techniques such as ice axe arrest, use of crampons, traveling and working on a rope team and running belays in order to successfully make it to the 14,162 ft summit.
