Airfare is not included in the cost of your trip. Since our students come from across the United States and abroad, it is impossible to include airfare in the price of our other adventures.

Do you have a travel agency that you recommend?

Yes. Club Travel has been our preferred travel agency and they are great about coordinating flights for all of our students. They will try to get seats together for all Moondance students even if they begin in different cities. They have also been helpful when we have travel delays, cancellations, etc. which seems to be happening more and more frequently. For our Northern Lights, Alaska LIT, Hawaiian Islands, Costa Rica Venture, and Chamonix Alps trips, students must reserve their airline tickets through Club Travel (770-952-4196). They will coordinate the smooth transition to get all students to the arriving city around the same time. Flights will be coordinated with other students from your area, enabling them to travel on the same flight and, when possible, be seated together.

What days do I travel on?

Specific time of arrival and departure vary with each trip. You should plan to arrive in the early afternoon on the first day of your program and you will depart late morning on the last day. Once you are signed up for an adventure, we will send you travel information in your Trip Information Packet outlining what times we would like you to arrive and depart from the specific city.

Can I use frequent flyer miles?

You can if they coordinate with our arrival and departure times. Once you are signed up for an adventure, we will send you travel information outlining what times we would like you to arrive and depart from the specific city. If you would like to use frequent flyer miles, please make sure to stick to our travel guidelines. Since we have a window of time to get everyone on opening day, we have little flexibility if someone is coming in late or leaving early on the last day of a course. Please remember that we have an entire group that we are responsible for. If you choose to use frequent flyer miles, you must go directly to your airline carrier. If you have questions about whether or not your plans meet our guidelines, please call our office.

Do I need a passport?

You will need a passport for all of our international programs - Canada, France, Australia, South Africa and South America.

Does it matter what time I arrive?

In order to make the most of that first day, we ask that everyone arrive at their final destination during the times specified in your Trip Information Packet. That way, the group can begin traveling to their first destination which could be as long as 3 hours away.

Are their extra fees imposed by airlines for teens traveling alone?

There are fees for folks under the age of 15. Unaccompanied minors 14 years and younger are required to sign up for the Unaccompanied Minor program with fees ranging from $50-$80. Moondancers 14 and younger will be accompanied by an airline staff member until a Moondance leader meets them at the gate at their final destination.
