BEACH BACKPACKING – CALIFORNIA'S LOST COAST
Your group will learn the basics of wilderness travel as you spend four days backpacking along California’s Lost Coast. Located in the northern half of the state and covering approximately 80 miles of California’s coast, the Lost Coast is a unique and diverse area. Here, you’ll be able to explore tidal pools filled with incredible sea stars, marvel at the steep cliffs above, and experience both the ocean and the mountains in one unbelievable setting.

WHITEWATER RAFTING - THE MIDDLE FORK of the AMERICAN RIVER
You and your group will venture inland to tackle the whitewater of the American River at the foothills of the Sierras. Accompanied by professional guides, your group will learn to navigate a raft through class III and IV rapids surrounded by boulder-strewn embankments. As you wind through Tahoe National Forest, you’ll learn to prepare gourmet meals that only a rafting experience affords. Spend the evening camping on a remote beach gathered around the fire talking about the churning whitewater of "Tunnel Chute"(a 90-foot rock tunnel)!!

MOUNTAIN BACKPACKING – YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
Having gotten a glimpse of these amazing mountains during your rafting section, you’ll now have the chance to further explore their beauty. Hiking well above tree line, you’ll be able to perfect your map-reading skills as you are surrounded by sweeping views of snow-capped mountains. You and your group will spend five days inside Yosemite National Park, 95% of which is designated wilderness, and soon discover the natural beauty that motivated John Muir to ensure the longevity of such an area by naming it a national park.

DAY HIKE AND EXPLORATION – LAKE TAHOE, CALIFORNIA
As the largest alpine lake in North America, Lake Tahoe covers 193 square miles with a maximum depth of 1,645 feet. You and your group will set up camp at Emerald Bay, an incredible section of the lake that contains the only island, Fannette Island, of Lake Tahoe. Once you have found the perfect campsite, you’ll hike from Eagle Falls Trailhead to the majestic Eagle Lake for a scenic day-hike and return by dusk to watch the sun set over Lake Tahoe.

ROCK CLIMBING - SOUTHERN YOSEMITE
The southern part of Yosemite National Park is considered one of the best locations to rock climb in the United States. With abundant sunshine and an ample amount of granite, you’ll be sure to fall in love with the scenery. Accompanied by professional guides, you and your group will learn the fundamentals of rock climbing, such as top-roping, belaying and rappelling with a continuing emphasis on proper safety procedures. Yosemite offers a variety of climbs that are appropriate for all levels, and your instructors will help you select routes with the right degree of challenge as your abilities improve.
